Fremont Surgical Center

Established in 2007, the Fremont Surgical Center is licensed by the state of Nebraska and is Medicare-certified. The center’s two operating rooms are equipped with the latest in operating technology, and it has two rooms designed for minor procedures and gastrointestinal endoscopy procedures.

The physicians are actively involved in the operations of their surgery center, says Daren Smith, RN, the center’s administrator. Physicians, healthcare professionals and the administrator are actively involved in all projects: daily operations, quality management, and strategic planning for future growth to continually meet the needs of their clients, Smith adds.

“Patient satisfaction is at the core of many of Fremont Surgical Center’s quality improvement activities,” says Smith. “Our patient satisfaction surveys have created changes in arrival- time procedures, clarity of discharge instructions, and pre-op comfort measures, just to name a few. Every patient is given the opportunity to grade the service they receive and those grades are tied to internal incentives for the staff.”

Administration and clinical staff are represented on the center’s quality team. They monitor quality measures and make recommendations to the staff and board of managers for improving the patient experience as well as improving the facility. “Each day the dedicated physicians and staff at Fremont Surgical Center strive to provide their clients with a superior healthcare experience,” Smith says.
