GURNEE, Ill. — The education committee of the American Association for the Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities Inc. (AAAASF), announces that it has developed a new comprehensive three-disc DVD/CD package, the Accreditation Assistant for the Busy Medical Practice, to assist facilities in the accreditation process. AAAASF president Lawrence S. Reed, MD, says of this new product: "After years of listening to physicians' questions about our accreditation process and what they need to get started, we have developed this tremendous product to ease the pain and answer many frequently asked questions. We hope that this educational tool will help prevent some procrastination and allow medical practices to move forward on accreditation more efficiently," he adds. The AAAASF board of directors' goal when developing this product was to design an accreditation support system that includes the most comprehensive, peer based, educational and self-applicable methods for implementing nationally recognized standards to ensure patient safety and quality care within the ambulatory surgery environment. This new 3-disc package makes AAAASF the most user friendly and accessible accreditation program available for ambulatory facilities.
