Milwaukee and Haymarket, Va. — Residents of fast-growing western Prince William County will soon have expanded access to healthcare services, thanks to Prince William Health System and national healthcare facilities developer, Milwaukee-based Hammes Co. The newly constructed 78,000-square-foot Haymarket Health Center is located on a 38-acre site in the Market Center campus. The facility is centrally located at the intersection of Interstate 66 and state Route 15 in Haymarket, Va., and will be a welcome addition for residents in Haymarket, Gainesville and surrounding communities. The facility will house a combination of ambulatory care and medical office space, and has been designed to seamlessly tie directly into the inpatient surgery center of a future hospital planned for the campus. In addition to housing physicians’ practices, Haymarket Health Center will have a diagnostic imaging center, emergency services, and physical, occupational and speech therapies. An outpatient surgery center will open in early 2009. Prince William Health System and Hammes Co. have enjoyed a strong relationship since 2003 and have partnered on a wide variety of projects. Hammes served as the developer of the Haymarket Health Center project and will own the building in a joint venture with physician tenants who take advantage of ownership opportunities offered for the facility. “It was a pleasure to work with a strategic partner like Hammes. on the Haymarket Health Center,” says Cynda Tipple, chief operating officer for Prince William Health System. “When you construct a state-of-the-art facility such as this, there is a great deal of coordination and hard work involved, from choosing the site to recruiting the right mix of physicians as tenants. Prince William has been extremely fortunate to work with the dedicated Hammes team on all these aspects of the Haymarket Health Center project.” “This new medical office building will make convenient, comprehensive healthcare in rapidly-growing western Prince William County a reality,” says Kevin Kraiss, senior vice president of Hammes. “Not only will Haymarket Health Center be embraced by patients, but the new physician tenants are also very excited about the chance to establish roots in this community. Ultimately, the patient experience is paramount to them and they recognize that this center offers a convenient, first class environment for both patients and physicians. In order to attract a diverse mix of physicians to serve this community’s needs, Hammes has offered physician tenants the opportunity to share in the long-term ownership of the facility. The level of interest and support from the physician community has been tremendous. “ Source: Hammes Co.
