The annual Ambulatory Surgery Center Association (ASCA) conference featured a riveting keynote from "Miracle on the Hudson" co-pilot Jeff Skiles. A charismatic storyteller, he insisted the emergency water landing of the giant airbus wasn't about a miracle or heroes; rather, it was an unanticipated event where everyone did their job. Drawing comparisons to the ASC industry, he pointed to the importance of proper training, emergency procedures and team communication.
