AORN Management Solutions Becomes For-profit Subsidiary of AORN

DENVER -- AORN Management Solutions, Inc, formerly known as AORN Opportunity, announces that effective July 1, 2003, it has migrated from an in-house department to a wholly owned for-profit subsidiary of AORN, the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses.

AORN Management Solutions provides interim management, permanent placement services, and consulting for hospitals and surgery centers across the country. Recently, AORN Management Solutions entered into an agreement with AmeriNet, Inc., the nation's largest membership-based health care group purchasing organization (GPO), to provide interim management, permanent placement services and consultation services for perioperative needs. The agreement was effective May 1, 2003.

AORN Management Solutions interim management service offers qualified, experienced perioperative directors and managers for assignment to facilities from three months up to one year. AORN Management Solutions' interim managers bring a wealth of knowledge and AORN standards of practice to the facility and can provide leadership, stability and vision for the perioperative services area.

AORN Management Solutions offers employment search services for perioperative managers and directors on a permanent placement basis. This service is proactive, results driven and highly successful in finding qualified candidates to fill vacant management positions. AORN Management Solutions contracts on a retainer basis only.

AORN Management Solutions' perioperative consultation service offers in-depth consultation on a variety of issues, including productivity/efficiency studies; infection control; remodel and new construction; staff mixing and mentoring.

Kim Boerner, RN, AORN Management Solutions general manager, notes, "We can provide consultation services for almost any need that involves perioperative services. AORN Management Solutions serves its customers by providing the kind of resources facilities need to deal with a number of transitional situations such as key staff departures; personnel development; financial management; FMLA leave; new service lines; special projects; and JCAHO surveys. We will place an experienced perioperative manager in a prompt manner, to help our clients with a seamless, effective transition. Not only can we assist our clients with interim management, but we will also help with recruitment of a permanent manager. This is a new service that our clients appreciate."

A fifth member of the Board will be added this month.
