ORLANDO, Fla. -- PainCare Holdings, Inc. has announced that Steel Valley Orthopedic Associates, PC, a well-established orthopedic practice serving the Eastern Pittsburgh and South Hills area in Pennsylvania, has signed agreements with the company to deploy both the MedX-Direct Rehabilitation Program and the EDX-Direct Program on-site at the practice.
Since originally founded by Francis O'Malley, MD in 1932, Steel Valley Orthopedic Associates has built a quality foundation of trust and care with the generations of families that it has treated. Currently, the practice operates three office locations in the eastern Pittsburgh and South Hills areas and is staffed by five orthopedic surgeons, including Donald F. O'Malley, Jr., MD, grandson of the founding physician. The physicians are all board certified and focus their care on fractures, total joint replacement, arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine. In addition, they are experienced with the latest technology in treating musculoskeletal disorders, including minimally invasive procedures such as carpal tunnel surgery, rotator cuff repair and hip and knee replacement.
"We are very excited about expanding our practice's service offerings with the addition of PainCare's MedX-Direct and EDX-Direct programs. Experience has taught us that maintaining control of the numerous aspects of a patient's treatment promotes and enhances the doctor-patient relationship. In the past, however, we had to refer our patients to third party service providers for their required physical therapy. By conveniently offering rehabilitation services and advanced nerve conduction studies right here in our office, there is no question that our patients will benefit from our greatly enhanced supervisory care," stated O'Malley.
PainCare offers turnkey, on-site, rehab and electro-diagnostic programs directly to independent physician practices, group practices and medical institutions under a revenue-sharing arrangement. The MedX-Direct Rehabilitation Program provides the most advanced testing, strengthening and rehabilitation utilizing state-of-the-art MedX equipment installed on-site at each physician practice. Since first being introduced in late 2002, PainCare has deployed this Program in dozens of practices across North America.
Based on the success of its MedX-Direct program, PainCare began offering physician practices with a comprehensive, turnkey electro-diagnostic program in early 2004. Marketed as EDX-Direct, this program provides for PainCare to supply contracted physician practices with all equipment, technical training and support necessary to introduce electro-diagnostic medicine into their respective practice care offerings. Like the MedX-Direct program, physicians in the contracted EDX-Direct program supply the necessary office space and manage all medical billing and collection activity.
Founded in Orlando, Fla. in 2000, PainCare is rapidly emerging as one of North America's leading providers of cost-effective, high-tech pain relief.
