Northside ENT Brings Hollywood Level 3D Imaging to Focus on Plastic Surgery

03/01/2005

ATLANTA -- Dr. Andrew Diamond, MD, president of Northside Ear, Nose, and Throat, P.C., has introduced the patent pending "SelfClick" rhinoplasty this week. This new digital process uses film industry-level, three-dimensional cameras to capture the image and the geometry of patients undergoing nasal plastic surgery.  The image is manipulated and transferred to a three dimensional printer to produce a custom negative mold which is used during the operation as well as worn postoperatively as a custom retaining splint.

Diamond explains, "The image is captured and transformed in film industry standard software, obtaining various possible profiles for the patient.  A DVD is produced for the patient so the patient and surgeon can select an appropriate visage.  This is transferred to a three dimensional printer, which produces a negative ABS plastic mold of the desired outcome. The patent pending 'SelfClick' procedure reduces the uncertainty of patients

embarking on rhinoplasty."

Four patients have been enrolled and will have their surgical procedures at the fully licensed and accredited Atlanta Outpatient Surgery Center on March 9, 2005.

Northside Ear, Nose, and Throat, P.C. is a physician practice limited to the specialty of otolaryngology, head and neck surgery with  locations in Atlanta, Roswell, and Cumming, Ga.
