HOUSTON, Texas -- Halco Life Safety Systems announces a contract award to place its premier Rauland-Borg healthcare communications and productivity system in the new Foundation Surgical Hospital currently under construction in the Houston area.
Foundation Surgical Hospital was designed as a specialty-care hospital for patients requiring orthopedic and neurosurgical care. Twenty three surgeons joined together to plan and develop this $50 million state-of-the-art hospital, and construction of the facility should be completed by this December.
Nationwide trends indicate that specialty surgical hospitals have emerged as one of the fastest-growing market segments in healthcare based on the advanced medical technology available and ability to provide increased efficiency and enhanced patient care.
“Utilizing the Responder NET Platform, the facility will have a fully integrated patient-to-staff communication system. Interfaced with wireless phones, hospital LAN, and their ADT system it will provide fast and accurate patient information by any authorized user in the hospital,” says Marquis Woodard, technology consultant for Halco.
In addition to the sophisticated life-safety platform, the communication system will enable staff members to access live data and customizable management reporting capabilities from any networked PC.
“It is our intention to use advanced technology for the greatest benefit to our patients,” says Louisa Adelung, CEO of Foundation Surgical Hospital. “The Responder NET will allow us to respond quickly to patient needs, remain in contact with our staff at all times, and provide state-of-the-art care for our patients. “
Halco Life Safety Systems has been active in the Houston healthcare market for more than 15 years as a distributor for Rauland-Borg, the market leader in patient to staff communication systems in the United States.
Foundation Surgical Hospital is located at 5410 West Loop South in the heart of Houston. The four-story, 120,000-square-foot specialty hospital will house 10 operating rooms and 64 inpatient beds, and a physical therapy gym. The hospital will serve patients age 14 and older with orthopedic and neurological needs. Its specialty programs include sports medicine, joint arthroplasty, and spine. A professional office building, the Foundation Medical Tower, will offer outpatient physical therapy and radiology services. The FMT will also house a conference center established for physician and staff continuing education.
Foundation Surgical Hospital is developed and managed by Foundation Surgery Affiliates of Oklahoma City, Okla. FSA specializes in project development, facility design, partner recruitment and facility operations for ambulatory surgery centers, imaging centers, surgical hospitals, and healthplexes.
