Altus Healthcare Inc. Forms Physician-Support Company for ASCs

02/09/2006

PALM DESERT, Calif. -- Altus HealthCare Inc. today announced the formation of Altus Physician Services, Inc., the fourth in a series of wholly owned subsidiaries, each with a unique line of business aimed at supporting the company's healthcare operations. Originally planned for launch in July of this year, Altus moved forward the creation of Altus Physician Services, Inc. in order to assure that its physician syndicates grow in lock-step with its rapidly expanding network of contracted ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs).

Altus Physician Services, Inc. will be tasked with establishing nationwide groups of physician syndicates to support its ASC network. While newly formed this week, internal Altus corporate staff have been working behind the scenes for several months to assure that when it came on line, Altus Physician Services, Inc. would have a jump on the task of building the syndicates to be associated with the six new ASCs to be added this year. The first of these will be established in Southern California, focusing on the areas of OrangeCounty, Palm Springs, and Beverly Hills. When fully operational, Altus Physician Services, Inc. will provide all of the support services needed to administratively manage the company's nationwide group of specialty surgeons and physicians.

Altus ' focus is on the health and wellness vertical, targeting elective weight loss surgery, cosmetic surgery, and those forms of outpatient surgery conducive to ASCs, including orthopedic, podiatric, and arthroscopic procedures, and general surgery.
