JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- The membership of the American Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers (AAASC) elected three new directors and re-elected two directors to each serve three year terms on the AAASC board of directors. The election took place at the AAASC annual meeting held March 8-11, 2006 at the Hyatt Regency Dallas.
“We received an overwhelming response to our request for nominations for the AAASC board of directors,” said AAASC executive director Craig Jeffries. “The work of the Nominations Task Force that included John Duggen, MD, David Shapiro, MD and Joseph Banno, MD, was made even more difficult because of the very qualified and experienced ASC leaders that were interested in serving on the AAASC board.”
The three new directors elected to three-year terms are:
-- Tim Geary, chairman and chief executive officer, National Surgical Care
-- Joe Clark, president, ASC Division, HealthSouth
-- John Schario, executive vice president, Nueterra Healthcare
Re-elected for a three-year term were:
-- Jeff Braaten, DO, ENT Specialists of Abilene
-- Mark Mayo, executive director, Illinois ASC Association
The 2006 AAASC annual meeting brought together the leaders and key decision makers of ambulatory surgery centers for an outstanding educational and networking meeting. The program featured the best educational topics and speakers available to ASC administrators, surgeons, medical directors, nurses, anesthesiologists, and nurse directors.
