SSI Surgical Services, Inc. Names Kevin K. Gordon Chairman of Board

ORLANDO, Fla. -- SSI Surgical Services, Inc. announces that Kevin K. Gordon has been elected chairman of its board of directors. Gordon is senior vice president of corporate development for Teleflex Incorporated. He succeeds Forrest Whittaker, who recently resigned from the SSI board.

Chris Tihansky, president and CEO of SSI, commented on the appointment, "I am delighted that Mr. Gordon has joined as chairman of our board. I have had the opportunity to work with him in various capacities over the past seven years, and I believe he is an excellent addition to our team. I look forward to working with Mr. Gordon to assist me in driving the future growth of our business."

Gordon has worked at Teleflex since 1997. He is responsible for the external growth initiatives of the company, including acquisitions, joint ventures, and alliances. Prior to joining Teleflex, he was the CFO of a packaging equipment manufacturer, where he rose to president. Gordon also worked in KPMG's Middle Market Advisory Services Group for seven years.

Gordon is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Philadelphia Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth.
