Anthony Gettys is Named CEO of Tenet’s Diagnostic Imaging Services

10/06/2006

DALLAS -- Tenet Healthcare Corp. announces that Anthony Gettys has been named chief executive officer of Tenet’s Diagnostic Imaging Services (DIS) located in the greater New Orleans area. Gettys oversees all strategic, operational and clinical activities of the five DIS centers located in Metairie, Uptown New Orleans and Marrero. DIS is managed under Tenet’s Outpatient Services Division. Gettys reports to Stephen E. Corbeil, senior vice president of Tenet’s outpatient services division.

Gettys has served as chief financial officer for DIS since March 2000. During that time, he was responsible for the financial oversight of the five centers, including patient financial services, payroll, accounts payable and accounting. He has served as interim CEO for DIS since May. Prior to joining DIS, Gettys held several financial management positions in health care, including controller for RiverParishesHospital and senior staff accountant at ChalmetteMedicalCenter.

“Anthony’s experience and extensive knowledge of the business operations makes him a natural fit for this position,” said Corbeil. “He is an exceptional leader who has developed an outstanding relationship with physicians and employees, which has resulted in improved quality as well as high patient and physician satisfaction.”

Gettys holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Northwood University in Midland, Mich. and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of New Orleans.

Part of Tenet’s overall business strategy includes outpatient services. Tenet is a major provider of outpatient services in its markets, and the company operates 65 dedicated outpatient centers, including 23 ambulatory surgery centers and 42 diagnostic imaging centers. Outpatient services currently generate approximately 30 percent of total revenues.
