House Passes Measure to Delay Physician Payment Cuts

12/22/2009

Medpage Today reports the House of Representatives has voted to postpone major cuts in Medicare payments to physicians which are scheduled to go into effect Jan. 1, 2010.

accoridng to the report, "The measure was rolled into a fiscal 2010 defense appropriations bill, which the House approved by a 395-34 margin Wednesday afternoon.

The Senate must also approve the postponement and is scheduled to vote on the defense spending bill this week.
