MINNEAPOLIS -- ProVation Medical, Inc. announces that River View Surgery Center chose its ProVation MD software for orthopedic procedure documentation and coding compliance. River View has used ProVation MD Gastroenterology software since July 2004.

ProVation MD software for multi-specialty procedure documentation and coding compliance replaces a less-efficient dictation/transcription approach and streamlines the coding and billing process. Driven by deep medical content, ProVation MD allows clinicians to quickly and completely document medical procedures and apply the appropriate CPT and ICD codes, as well as CCI edits. The software is available in specialties, including gastroenterology, pulmonology, orthopedics, pain management, urology and cardiology.

The River View Campus encompasses a multi-specialty outpatient surgery center, an imaging center, a diagnostics and rehabilitation center, and the offices of dozens of family practice and specialty physicians. River View is an affiliate of Mount Carmel Health System.

"ProVation MD Gastroenterology software has enabled us to streamline our workflow and eliminate unnecessary administrative steps and related costs. Our initial success in using the product led us to select the company's software to document Orthopedics procedures," said Patti Moore, director of River View Surgery Center. "We strive to utilize state-of-the art technologies, pioneering procedures, innovative treatments and cutting edge research to continually enhance patient care. ProVation software supports this objective."

"River View has been a valued customer since they began using ProVation MD software to document Gastroenterology cases," said Mark Wagner, chief executive officer of ProVation Medical, Inc. "Their decision to implement ProVation MD software for Orthopedics is validation that our multi-specialty platform plays an integral role in the delivery of care at hospitals and ASCs across the country."

In 1996, Mount Carmel joined a group of eight Fairfield County physicians to develop River View Surgery Center. Since that time, River View has grown into a full-service medical campus, offering imaging and diagnostics through the River View Imaging Center, and a medical office building providing primary care, specialty medicine, and rehabilitation services.

With a history of serving the community since 1886, Mount Carmel offers a broad range of healthcare services in the central Ohio region and treats more than a half million patients each year. The healthcare system includes three hospitals - Mount Carmel East, Mount Carmel West, and Mount Carmel St. Ann's; outpatient services; home care; hospice care; home medical equipment services; an ambulance and mobile intensive care service; a community outreach program for the poor and under-served; a college of nursing; and a Medicare HMO. Mount Carmel is a regional ministry organization of Trinity Health, based in Novi, Mich.
