BRENTWOOD, Tenn. — Meridian Surgical Partners LLC, announced that it has acquired a partnership interest in the Northwest Neurospine Institute LLC, (NNI) located in Eugene, Ore. NNI specializes in surgical procedures of the spine and performed more than 500 cases in the previous 12 months. NNI has two operating rooms and occupies 7,911 square feet within a medical office building containing physician offices. Northwest Neurospine is Meridian Surgical Partner’s ninth ASC acquisition since its founding in 2006.

Commenting on the acquisition, Northwest Neurospine Institute physician partners released the following statement, “Forming a partnership with Meridian Surgical Partners was a logical next step as we grow the center and increase awareness about the advantages of outpatient spine procedures among patients and physicians in the Eugene and outlying areas. Meridian’s strong focus on optimizing efficiencies and patient safety is equally matched with the physician partners’ goal of providing the best outpatient spine care possible for our patients.” NNI physician partners include Catherine Gallo, MD, Christopher Miller, MD, Scott Kitchel, MD, and Christopher Noonan, MD.

“The opportunity to partner with a spine-focused facility is very exciting for Meridian. The combination of our new physician partners’ experience and clinical expertise, coupled with the steady migration of spine procedures to an outpatient setting, give this partnership a great deal of momentum as we move forward with plans to expand the facility both organically and through external efforts,” said David F. “Buddy” Bacon, Jr., chief executive officer of Meridian Surgical Partners.
