CHICAGO and JACKSON, N.J. — Chicago-based Lillibridge and Meridian Health are partnering on a 150,000 square-foot, consumer-driven outpatient medical facility called Meridian Health Village. Located in Jackson, the new three-story facility will bring expanded services to the rapidly growing area of Ocean County, N.J. Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2009 and will be completed by summer 2010.
The Meridian Health Village will have a unique Y-shaped design that is both retail and residential in feel. There are three key service areas within the Y-shape which will all be uniquely grouped together within the building’s layout: an internal medical/family practice area, a women’s and children’s health area, and a section for medical and surgical specialists. In addition to the three service areas, the building will house a surgery center, imaging center, urgent care center, rehabilitation, phlebotomy laboratory and patient education area.
The building is distinctive in its consumer-driven concept. Meridian Health did a great deal of research to plan the design of the facility, conducting formal focus groups and consulting with members of the surrounding community. The goal was to make the facility a healthy lifestyle focal point for residents, and a place to go not just when they are sick, but when they are well and focused on disease and illness prevention. In addition to medical services, the building will also house food services, a community-based fitness center, medical spa and other services.
“This is a very exciting and unique project that has been designed to meet the rapidly evolving needs of Ocean County residents,” says Sal Inciardi, senior vice president of business development for Meridian Health. “Lillibridge has been a great partner in developing this Health Village concept that will uniquely serve this growing community. Their experience in healthcare real estate has been invaluable throughout the process and we look forward to the completion of this innovative ambulatory facility.”
“We have a solid partnership with Meridian Health,” says Lillibridge chairman and chief executive officer Todd Lillibridge. “This consumer-oriented project shows how forward-thinking the people at Meridian Health are. The new Meridian Health Village will be a real focal point for the community.”
