BANNOCKBURN, Ill. — Omron Healthcare announced an important extension of their vital signs monitoring business, the launch of a compact, portable and highly efficient patient monitor, model Z207 ECG.

The model’s lightweight and economical design uses Smart Inflation technology to determine optimal inflation pressure and minimize patient discomfort, and Dynamic Linear Deflation to automatically adjust to a patient’s heart rate and decrease total measurement time. Furthermore, the monitor can be used for up to 6 hours on battery power alone for extended patient transport and spot check monitoring.

“We created the Z207 ECG monitor to meet a growing demand in the medical device market for a patient monitor that has many of the ‘bells and whistles,’ associated with larger models, but in a more compact package when floor space is limited, ” said Robert Schneider, general manager for marketing at Omron.

Comprehensive vital sign measurements on the monitor include electrocardiography (ECG), non-invasive blood pressure (systolic, diastolic and mean arterial pressures) (NIBP), one channel temperature, functional arterial oxygen saturation (SpO2), pulse rate and respiration.

Weighing just 6.6 pounds, it is easy to transport the monitor from floor to floor. A 7-inch, customizable LCD screen allows users to select only those display items that are of most importance, and select Omron’s Big Number feature for an even easier read of vital signs.
