A group of Philadelphia’s citizens, angry over Temple University Health System’s decision to convert Northeastern Hospital to an ambulatory care center, is planning to hold a protest outside a fundraising event for Temple University Hospital’s organ transplant programs Saturday night, hosted by Temple University President Ann Weaver Hart.

According to the Philadelphia Business Journal, The Coalition to Save Northeastern Hospital, a group that includes workers from the Temple University Health System hospital and community leaders and organizations working to keep Northeastern open, says many local patients will have difficulties accessing inpatient care at other locations, particularly obstetrical and emergency care, and workers will have trouble finding new jobs.
