WATERBURY, Conn. — Amkai announced that it was awarded contracts by 11 facilities recently as part of the company’s “Amkai ASC Stimulus Program.” This offer provided an affordable subscription price approach to the acquisition of the AmkaiOffice management system and AmkaiCharts EMR software. Launched at the ASC Association conference in Nashville, Tenn., the limited-time program ran until early July as a way to minimize upfront investment for the customer.
Amkai’s contract wins included existing surgery centers from across the country representing a variety of specialties. Demonstrating the strength of interest in a comprehensive information management solution, several of the contracts included purchase of AmkaiCharts in addition to AmkaiOffice.
AmkaiOffice is designed to replace legacy administrative systems that are used today in many ambulatory surgery centers. The software includes many new features and approaches that drive efficiency and cost savings. AmkaiCharts is an EMR designed from the ground up to meet the specific needs of ASC’s, surgical hospitals, and affiliated physician practices. A number of the new customers taking advantage of the Amkai Stimulus Program indicated that it allowed them to move forward on their strategy of significantly reducing costs associated with paper records. Additional feedback suggests that ASCs are increasing their preparedness for the continued drive for EMR adoption by the government and payers.
“We are very pleased with the response to our Stimulus program,” said Don Fallati, senior vice president of marketing for Amkai. “Our idea was to help facilities make the necessary technology investments comfortably in this budget-constrained environment, and we’re happy that many were able to do so.”
