Carilion Clinic has offered in a proposed consent agreement to “promptly divest” two outpatient centers in Roanoke, Va., in order to resolve an antitrust complaint brought by the Federal Trade Commission, according to a motion filed with the commission.

According to Modern Physician, Lawyers for the FTC and the six-hospital system jointly asked to put the matter on hold for 30 days, saying a proposed agreement “contemplates a remedy that completely restores the competition that was alleged to have been eliminated by the acquisition.” They asked that the agreement itself not be made public unless it is accepted by the commission.
