Ambulatory Surgical Centers of America (ASCOA) is the new management provider and a minority owner of The Brevard Specialty Surgery Center, an 11,472 square foot multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center located in Melbourne, FL.“We are excited about this opportunity to give The Brevard Specialty Surgery Center a second chance at success,” said Jeff Péo, vice president of development for ASCOA. “We have already implemented the ASCOA management model and recruited additional physician partners, which are both key to accomplishing our long term goal of increased case volume and profitability.”
David Malis, MD, a pediatric ENT surgeon, is one of the new physician partners. Having practiced at the center in the past, Malis was aware of the challenges the center was facingand is pleased with the changes ASCOA is making. “I have chosen to come back to The Brevard Specialty Surgery Center and invest as a partner,” he said. “As a physician, I know my patients will receive excellent care and compassion from the staff, and their parents will have a friendly and efficient experience. As a businessman, I know the surgery center will receive the guidance and management it needs from ASCOA.”
The 11 physician partners in The Brevard Specialty Surgery Center provide outpatient services in general surgery, gastroenterology, urology and otolaryngology (ENT). The center is fully licensed to provide outpatient surgical services and is a recognized Medicare provider facility.
