BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—SourceMedical today announced an important new level of clinical integration designed to provide immediate access to patient pre-assessment data. Ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) can now integrate electronic patient medical forms generated on-line by patients via SourcePlus Passport directly into their core management system and Vision EHR. Facilities benefit through increased efficiency, streamlined workflow and improved patient care.
SourcePlus Passport enables facilities using SourceMedical’s Vision, Vision EHR and AdvantX management systems to have patients complete their own pre-operative medical history securely via the Internet. Information is then reviewed by clinical staff and confirmed with the patient. Verified patient information is automatically integrated back to AdvantX or Vision and tied to the patient’s case. The new integration provides additional benefits to Vision EHR customers by bringing finalized documents back into patients’ charts for easy access. This improved level of integration simplifies the clinical documentation management process and ensures all patient information is consistent and in one place.
“Instant access to patient information is essential,” said Ron Pelletier, vice president for market strategy of SourceMedical’s surgery division. “This integration allows our AdvantX and Vision clients to take full advantage of the value SourcePlus Passport provides by leveraging the electronic documentation generated during the pre-operative process and tying it directly to the case. In doing so we are empowering facilities to manage patient information in a way that improves productivity and profitability while enabling them to enhance the quality of care they deliver.”
SourcePlus Passport significantly reduces the amount of time nurses spend on the phone conducting pre-operative evaluations; average savings are approximately 22 minutes of clinical time per case. By allowing patients to submit their medical information at their convenience, information is more complete. Electronic documentation eliminates lost paperwork and provides more legible and uniform results. SourceMedical’s Vision, Vision EHR and AdvantX management systems further simplify and improve related processes including scheduling, registration, clinical documentation, inventory, medical billing software, collections, management reporting and more.
