SIOUX FALLS, SD — Surgical Management Professionals, LLC (SMP) has recently signed a management agreement with Gateway Surgery Center in Clinton, Iowa. Gateway Surgery Center is owned by Medical Associates, PLC, a provider multi-specialty medical group in Clinton.
“Gateway Surgery Center is a great facility that provides exceptional care utilizing the latest technology and procedures while focusing on the personalized needs of their patients," said Michael Lipomi, SMP president and CEO.
From start-up to management, Surgical Management Professionals provides a broad array of services to make ASCs and POHs more clinically and operationally efficient. In recent months, SMP has launched new service lines including physician billing and a new coordinated purchasing program that is saving thousands of dollars for their facilities.
Gateway Surgery Center in Clinton, Iowa is a multi-specialty outpatient surgery center offering services in general surgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics, gynecology, ENT, podiatry, urology, gastroenterology and pain management. The center has two operating rooms, two procedure room, 18 credentialed physicians, nine credentialed CRNAs, and 23 employees. Gateway Surgery Center currently has a three year accreditation through Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC).
Tom Moser, chief operating officer for medical associates, noted that “our decision to partner with SMP was based on their ability to provide management resources that we could not access on our own. SMP has demonstrated the ability to improve both the quality and efficiency of those ambulatory surgery centers where they have management partnerships."
